This week we welcome the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and hopefully some cooler temperatures. A 5pm kickoff gives us a little more time to relax, catch up with friends and enjoy the food.
Since I would assume that working a Golden Eagle into the menu would be a little tough if not illegal, I thought I would see if I could use Golden Eagle Syrup in some of the items this week. Not only does it give a nod to the Golden Eagles, but it works the local Alabama theme into the menu.
I also wanted to give a nod to the Mississippi tradition of BBQ and general southern foods. With that, here is what I was thinking.
- Golden Eagle Pecan Pie Dip
- Golden Eagle Baked Beans
- Mac-N-Cheese – Straight from the box… it is Mississippi after all and I love that stuff!
- BBQ Ribs with Golden Eagle BBQ Sauce
- Golden Beer Can Chickens with Traditional White Sauce
I will try and have the food off by around 2pm to give everyone time to get over to the game.
