This week we welcome the Western Carolina Catamounts to Tuscaloosa as well as Homecoming. We played WCU a few years back and were fortunate enough to meet one of WCU’s player’s parents.   They were super excited about being in Tuscaloosa and talked about how great UA’s staff had been to WCU. I imagine this experience is not unique to Tuscaloosa when smaller teams visit a large program, at least I hope not. Why do I mention this? To remind you as fans (no matter where you are) to make sure you are being great hosts and stewards of your University.   Beat the other team, sure. Give them a hard time, naturally. Make sure they are excited about having been to Tuscaloosa no matter the outcome… better believe it.

Now, let’s talk a little tailgating. I will not be at the house this weekend. I will be setup at the Shelby County Alumni Association Tent (click link for directions) and serving an early lunch. The Homecoming parade starts at 10:30 and I will be trying to get food off around 11am at the tent.

When I think of Carolina, the first thing that pops in my head is BBQ. In honor of that I will be doing traditional western Carolina BBQ served with a red sauce. Since it will be cold on Sat I also wanted to do something that was a little heartier than standard BBQ. Here is what I am thinking about doing:

Hope to see you on the quad!

Roll Tide!
